David Berens

David graduated from Durham University in 1984 and qualified as a solicitor in 1988.

David merged his own practice with Fuglers in 1998 and heads the Company/Commercial Department.

On graduating from Durham University in 1984 having read Law & Politics David went to the College of Law and finalised his training at one of Manchester’s top commercial law firms.

David is experienced in acting on all aspects of Company and Commercial matters in particular company sales and purchases and venture capital transactions. He also advises on commercial aspects of property transactions and tax planning for high net worth individuals.

In his spare time David is kept very busy with his two young and energetic children.

Bryan Fugler

Qualifying in 1970 Bryan is experienced in most aspects of commercial law - be it litigation, corporate or commercial. In the early 1990’s, Bryan became a media and sports specialist acting for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur PLC, Queens Park Rangers Football Club, Terry Venables, George Best, Jimmy White and lots of other sporting and showbiz personalities.

Throughout the last 10 years Bryan has mainly devoted his time to negotiating commercial agreements and settlement of all manner of disputes and now spends most of his time as a business developer for the practice.

A life long supporter and season ticket holder of Spurs, Bryan spends most of his spare time having as much fun as he can and spending time with his grandchildren.

Emma Phillips

Emma qualified as a solicitor in August 2000 and joined Fuglers in August 2003, as a senior assistant in the litigation department. She has extensive knowledge and expertise in commercial and civil litigation, including a niche practice advising parties on personal injury matters - clients include property developers and entrepreneurs with high net worth, in addition to partnerships and private companies.

Emma’s experience in understanding client needs and strong negotiating skills has led to efficient, pragmatic and economic dispute resolution either through English courts or Mediation. Outside of law, Emma’s interests include travel, skiing and watching football as an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club.



Kiry Sallangou

Specialising in commercial property, landlord and tenant and residential property. Kiry works with large and growing companies, as well as individuals, in the buying and selling of land, and all aspects of property development from initial planning right through to completion.

Ian Stowe

Ian has extensive experience in all aspects of property law including construction transactions, investment work, and private banking work, acting for shopping groups, leasehold collective and individual enfranchisements and extensions (for landlord and tenant). Litigation experience includes Richard Barland -v- VT Engineering (1968) and Capital and Suburban Properties -v- Swycher (1976).

Ben Fugler

Ben specialises in real estate development and investment transactions and has extensive experience acting for vendors, purchasers and lenders. Outside of work his interests include boxing, German literature and supporting Spurs.

Jon Pope

Jon specialises in property transactions and is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. He has considerable experience in residential, plot development, and commercial and business conveyancing matters.

Jon acts for both landlords and tenants in the letting of commercial and business premises, the purchase and sale of residential property, the re-mortgage and refinancing of property, options to buy and sell and many other property related matters. Jon also acts for various lenders in the secured lending field.

Jon takes great pride in acting for the same clients for numerous years and is able to establish a positive and friendly working relationship with all clients.

Fatma Huseyin

Fatma qualified as a Barrister in October 2005 and is a member of Grays Inn. She studied a Masters at Kings College London and cross qualified as a Solicitor in 2007. Fatma specialises in civil litigation, property litigation, rent arrears, service charges, county court claims at all levels, landlord and tenant disputes, bankruptcy, repossession of residential/commercial premises, divorce, and matrimonial finance.

Fatma works with both companies and individuals. She also has international clients and can speak Turkish. Due to her background and training at the Bar, Fatma can do a fair amount of her own clients advocacy .In an attempt to be more cost effective Fatma considers whether cases are appropriate for Mediation.

Marios Georgiades

Marios studied law at Kings College London.

In his spare time, Marios provides private tuition to students who are taking diplomas in subjects such as Maths, English and Accountancy.

Doulla Charalambous

Doulla graduated from City University, London in 2004 with LLB Honours . She completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School, Leeds where she also advised on the Pro Bono Legal Advice Clinic.

Doulla joined Fuglers as a trainee in May 2007, and qualified as a solicitor in October 2008. Doulla is fluent in Greek and also speaks French. Outside of work she enjoys travelling and socialising with friends.

Rory Jenkins

Rory studied law at Downing College, Cambridge University and qualified as a solicitor in 1997 with Herbert Smith. Rory’s focus is on commercial dispute resolution.

He has a broad range of experience in handling general commercial and contractual disputes, professional negligence actions specializing in defending solicitors, insurance litigation, insolvency litigation with strong links in the insurance and financial institutions sectors.

Recent work highlights include acting in a 5 week insurance fraud trial involving worldwide freezing injunctions and successfully bringing an appeal to the Court of Appeal.

Rory also advises on contentious employment law issues and commercial transactions in the technology and media sector. With close links in the sporting world he has advised on sponsorship agreements with the British & Irish Lions, shareholder and agency issues among other areas.

Rory has Masters’ qualifications in insurance law, employment law and international tax law.

Rory achieved the sporting distinction of obtaining a triple blue in rugby, cricket and athletics at Cambridge, going on to play rugby for Harlequins and an England XV in Argentina.

Outside of professional life, Rory enjoys family life in Surrey, golf, supporting Harlequins, Classics international rugby and the Free Foresters cricket club.
